A. Alex Brown was born and raised in Waycross, Georgia, the daughter of Dr. Rodney and Sheena Brown. She graduated high school as Salutatorian from Ware County School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Services, a Magnet School in Manor, Georgia where she was an avid athlete, winning back to back individual and team State Championships in golf, and was voted by her class as Most Intelligent and Most Athletic. Thereafter, she attended Mercer University on a Division I golf scholarship, where she played 4 years. Alex obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Mercer Law School in 2010. Upon graduation, Alex clerked for the Superior Court Judges of the Waycross Judicial Circuit for over 4 years before opening her own practice in 2014. In January 2017 Brown & Thigpen, P.C. was formed with partner John R. Thigpen, Sr.  Alex served as the President of the Okefenokee Humane Society for multiple years and is a Certified Mediator. Alex is very dedicated to her work and getting the best results for her clients. Away from the office, Alex enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

John R. Thigpen, Sr. is an honor graduate of Blackshear High School. He obtained an Associates degree from South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia and his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University, majoring in Criminal Justice. After graduation, John served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman for 2 years and then as a member of the United States Army Reserve for an additional 4 years. John obtained his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated with honors. He then returned to South Georgia to practice law. With over 40 years of trial experience, John is no stranger to the courtroom. John is known for his expertise in criminal law and personal injury law, as well as his quick wit and gregarious charisma. John is focused on getting the best outcome possible for his clients. In his spare time, John enjoys driving his tractor, maintaining his pecan farm, and rebuilding antique cars.
